The Insight's body is a new lightweight design made up of an aluminum monocoque, reinforced in key areas with an aluminum-extrusion frame. The resulting body structure has 13 percent more bending strength and an impressive 38 percent more torsional rigidity than a comparable-sized steel body, yet weighs approximately 40 percent less.
